That was an old Polaroid pic taken at John Boothroyd's in 73. We played at the National Folk Festival at Melbourne Uni and I also did a workshop called "Medieval to Bluegrass" in a lecture hall to about 400 people. That was one of my last gigs with "Country Express" (prev The Skillet Lickers BG Band).
Our little Stringband was named after Col William Light (designer of Adelaide) and it fell well short of a "light orchestra' but was fun.
L-R is Sandra, my then partner, me playing evil fiddle, and Phil Moore on clawhammer jo. The instruments were borrowed from John (love the little old prewar Gibbo guitar). We normally used a (rare) 1964 Guild F-47 guitar and Phil played his 1960s Gibson RB-100. Can't remember what fiddle I had then, just that it was old. BTW the TV is genuine late 50s!!
