A couple weeks work here. I call it my Nicaraguan "HABANOS" cigar-box fiddle. There were many made during the civil war era. This one is very muted due to the quarter inch thickness wood. Doved-tailed corners. It is NOT made to scale tho close. Walnut neck & box, ash wood fingerboard & chinrest, maple bridge & tailpiece. Nut, saddle, pegs ebony. Credit given to Cigar & Tobac Store ( LOL ). Lot's info. under google.

Ozarkian, now that's some cute whitlin'. I may go back to that antique store and buy them thar wooden cigar boxes after all...saw a bass guitar made outa' one twaz electrified an evrthang!

Great looking fiddle. I particularly like the hand made neck and fingerboard. Nice F holes, too.

Man, I dig that cigar box. I am figgerin' on building me one of them. I also want to try a pochette. And eventually a real honest to goodness fiddle.

Yes Sir! Make you another one. I started off making banjos, but now in 6 months I've made 6 cigar box fiddles and no banjos. What a great way to learn new stuff.
