It was actually a nice fall day in the lower 60's at a small, very difficult local crag. The word you're looking for is "yooper," which I don't yet qualify for because I've only lived here for 24 years. I had hiked in ahead of my climbing partners to do some picking before they arrived. Then, I played some more after we'd been at it for a while and somebody took the photo. Note the complete absence of a tan below the neck.
