Close-up time! This is originally a Song Tieling cheapie Chinese trade fiddle from eBay that was tuned up and made much nicer by a very experimental luthier in Georgia named Don Rickert who does all sorts of interesting things (octave fiddles, pochettes, cigar box fiddles, etc.) and is willing to take on a peculiar job from time to time. The low end is amazingly clean and beautiful, and it plays like a dream. I'm so happy with it!
