Do my eyes decieve me, or is'nt tha bass side ribs thicker than tha treble side ? If so, what's tha purpose ? Would'nt thet give even a 5 string more bass sound ?

The ribs are a lot thicker on the bass side. The Flying Farmer had some idea with it and Tim Philips has done something similar.
