try a black ligth to bring out the trade mark may be some chalk dust and black ligth i think this is a german trade work fiddle i can be wrong one of the best people to ask is the luthiers that are on line here

Thank you. Someone sanded most of the imprint off and then put a ahiny coating of some sort over it.

have woodwiz look at it you can ask he is a very good luthier and he is on line F.H.O.
