Found these out snowshoeing. A bit of snow, maybe falling off a tree, then rolling downhill, picking up snow, coming to rest on the trail. Nice spiral, which reminded me of a violin scroll. Silliness, really.

Hey Ken, that's really cool (pun intended). I like interesting photos like that. My sister sent me some photos from central IL, a couple of years ago, of snow rollers. They are similar except coused by wind blowing hard across snow at the right condition. The wind rolls up pieces of snow to various sizes. Very odd looking. A flatland phenomenon.
