Fiddler at Big Texan Steakhouse

Posted 2/7/2010 10:37:51 PM

What a guy! He let me play his Hoff. He don't look too impressed does he? He uses a heavier bow with black horse hair. He says the weight reduces bow bounce and the black hair helps the tone or something. Does anybody know anything about it? Great band too. Sorry, I don't remember their names.

Good place for the tips, although it makes him look like a bride having a dollar dance.

I play fiddle at the Big Texan with this band. That is Billy- he is a bluegrass fiddler. He definitely know what he is talking about. He has been at it for a good 60 years. Even though he don't look to impressed, he loves when other fiddlers come out! He definitely likes the black haired bows, but I can't tell too much of a difference... Good luck with your fiddling!
