Nice looking fiddle! I'd get a better case with more support for the instrument. Its not good to have it rattling around in there with nothing to cushion it or to stop other loose things from scratching it.

Thanks downyonder, you an't see from that particular photo, but i did throw some padding in myself, seems to hold it pretty sturdy. but i dhould probably retire the case, it's a nice artifact!

I love the old cases, but truth is they're much more prone to bowbugs (which eat your bowhair) and they tend to be heavy, which if you're busking or doing festivals will not be fun. And yeah, they don't protect the fiddle as well as the newer cases. The formed plastic SKB cases are relatively inexpensive and do a good job, though they're also a bit heavy. But, according to a friend, a fiddle can survive falling off the back of a motorcycle on the interstate in one of those cases. :-)
