this was homemade, with almost no experience. I did not even play at this point. basically learned the mechanics and went with it. 2weeks later I had a fiddle, sounds like a victrola, but it works. nut is bone, back is mahogany, front is pine, everything else was kindly donated out of a friends parts box, I actually use this tailpice on the fiddle I play today. the best Idea I had was the ribs. I had no iron,so the top and bottom plates actually sit inside the ribs, which are small slivers of wood laid side by side to make up the curve. I would not say it sounds good. but it does to me, because its my first.
