I would like to host and promote a nice bluegrass fiddler competition in conjunction with our Old Fashioned Sunday Weekend. A weekend of classic car shows, horse carriage rides, old time food, crafts, old time singing and preaching. I am not trying to be Smithville...although that would be great a few years down the line...just a 1st time, pleasant competition that will be good for the contestants and listeners. My prize money pockets are not as deep as the bigger guys, but we plan to have nice cash prizes. How can I structure the competition to make it a good competition for all and not be too outrageously expensive to put on? I am working on sponsorships...I would like the lineup and choice of categories to have that will keep it simple and not too expensive. Anyone have suggestions?
