I purchased at Goodwill Industries just two days ago a lovely violin with case and a Glasser bow minus the horsehair for $36.00. My neighbor's son tuned it as he is a violin student and loved this violin compared to his rental violin. The tone is mellow and rich in comparison. I have not played for 50 years and want to relearn as a senior citizen. The violin's label says: Ton-Klar, Herrmann, made in Germany expressly for William Lewis & Son, Chicago, Illinois, WM LANDSLIN No. 165 4/4, No. 75,737-F. The bow can be rehaired. I would love to know the age of the violin and what its value is, albeit I would never sell it. It speaks to me and said it found its home finally.
Thank you, in advance, for your assistance in providing any history.
