Hey y'all. this is my first time posting on here. I'm depsreate to talk with some other fiddlers who are performing live regualrly. I'm currently using an accoustic violin with a pick up. I play through an Baggs pre-amp and a Fender Princeton amplifier. (I've found the ols school amps have the greatest sound) I've been using my wooden bows that I typically used for classical/folk playing. They are NOT holding up to the intensity of fiddling electrically. I've rehaired them three times in the last 3 months...which is costing me a fortune! What to you think about CARBON bows? Do I have to spend $500????? I need DURABILITY as well as performance! Desperate for suggestions!!
