I recently was given a violin belonging to my grandmother. We are estimating that the instrument is approximately 130 years old. The local luthier who is doing some repairs and cosmetic work told me that the violin was made in Colorado by a gentleman named C. Anderson. He may have had European roots and training before coming to this country.
I'm looking for any history that anyone may have on this individual or a direction you can point me to. I've tried the usual search engines and have come up empty!
The bow, which is in excellent condition, was made by Albert Nurnberger. Thanks for any help you can provide! The fact that this is a family heirloom makes it that much more intriging! Thanks so much.
