Where the cool fall nights make the wood smoke rise

I spent the day back at the old home place where my great grandparents raised their family. A place full of fond memories. A place so far off the beaten path that one cannot help but feel like the troubles of the world don't exist. A place that will renew your soul.
I spent the day with family and friends. Talking about the events in the last year. Sharing memories of those who have passed but somehow still felt alive and with us. And making new memories for the years to come.
We all traveled from near and far. We all gathered for prayer and to give thanks. And sometime during the afternoon we all hummed Amazing Grace to the echoes of a fiddle and guitar within the hollow.
Indeed it was a glorious day! One that will not be forgotten. For this day was started with a mom and dad who simply wanted to bring their children back to the hollow, back home, once again.
