Hi, I'm new to the site though I've been reading it for a while. My son plays the violin, I just buy the stuff for him and enjoy listening. I just bought what I think is an older violin for him - it appears it dates from earlier than 1905 - the prior owner had a record of the violin being looked at in a shop during that year and she claimed it had been in her family prior to that. It has no inside label but has a makers mark on the back that says something like "POLLMARINI" with a logo of a fancy intertwined "P" and "M" below that. Beneath the logo is "XXX" and under that "VIOLIN". Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks! I enjoy reading the interchanges on this site - lively! Best Regards, Scott
