Hello there
Having taken up music late in life and been playing bluegrass banjo for almost 5 years, I've now decided to take up bluegrass fiddle as well and, on the recommendation of a bluegrass fiddle playing mate I have bought a Stentorian fiddle and Dominant 4/4 strings (for superior playing so I am advised) and now want to begin to learn to play some of the bluegrass classic melodies which I can now play (a bit!) on my banjo.
Although I've taken banjo lessons over the last 5 years with an excellent tutor I thought that this time I would try to learn the fiddle in a somewhat less expensive way, mainly by finding basic teaching stuff on YouTube which I can follow stage by stage.
Any advice from forum members about which YouTube courses to follow (the ones I've seen up to now seem very advanced and the tutors seem more interested in demonstrating their own prowess than helping the beginner) would be much appreciated..
Cheers
Ed
