I saw where they were talking about the old fiddles sold at sears and roebuck in the early 1900's. I happen to have one, I was trying to learn to play with it until I couldn't handle my carpal tunnel. It use to belong to my grandfather who was born in 1882 and my dad got it when he died. My dad use to tell me how much he use to play it. I don't know the date it was bought but definitely before my dad was born which was 1931. They said most of them have fallen apart, this one is still together and plays good. I had a friend play amazing grace with it at my dad's funeral. I don't expect they are worth much, 200 bucks, but I was wondering what anyone knew of the violins from that timeline made at Sears, the wood, who made them, etc.
