Traffic Jam

From fiddlerd on 8/21/2012 5:44:00 AM

I have been stuck in a traffic jam on the fiddle highway. Between work and my home improvement projects I haven't had time for good quality fiddle practice. I fiddle everyday, but not the solid work on the fiddle I want. It's a combination of having to get out early to beat the heat and get something done and in the evening having a tired arm from rebuilding my porch etc....I'm starting to see some daylight and traffic is starting to thin out a bit. With fall coming on I will be able to work more during the middle of the day and be back to normal if there is such a thing. With fall comes renewed energy and the tease of the fresh, crisp north wind. Life is good and the fiddle makes it better.

Try to listen to some fiddle tunes while ya work, and get a book on theory to read in when your just not able to practice. It's a long journey. Enjoy and keep fiddling!

I agree that listening to recordings of fiddle tunes will help, and it will also be fun. I've heard that it helps to "practice" by moving your fingers as if you were playing a particular tune without your fiddle. I've never tried this. If you try it, please let me know how it works..
