Hard work pays off. After working on a song off and on all afternoon tonight I had a breakthrough. I started playing with the cd and my fingers seemed to know where to go. I was able to get the sound out of my fiddle I was looking for!!

	Larry Rutledge says: 3/18/2012 5:23:47 AM Congrats, now do that 300 more times" Not all in a day, break it down into 10 to a set. 10 setting, 10 standing, 10 walking around, 10 times with another song playing on yer CD player, go outside. (spose to be 85 here to day) be creative. Maybe with yer eyes closed (not when yer walking around) When ya get to 300 tell us how it feels. Keep fiddling Larry

I kinda luck out here cuz my mountain flower sweetie has a violin also so we both play and learn together and thats real real neat when you can play along with eachother and everything goes together and it really gets loud and smooth . We instantly get big smiles we can't wash off our faces . Friend of mine left me his mandolin and it's tuned the same as violin and string are the same and same order just doubles ,so can play that instantly using the violin songs i learned . Gettin kinda a double wannie now . Keep us posted on your progress , it's fun to share that excitement of making it over the hurdles . Take care Scott barn'billy

	Larry Rutledge says: 3/18/2012 6:31:12 PM Billy I'm jealous, you've got yer practice partner right there, and I bet she tell's ya when yer messing up:) The 300 thing came from some of the better fiddlers here on the site. It really works, you'll have alot of break-thru moments with the same tune. You'll have the tune so under yer fingers that you can really work on yer tone, speed, try several bowings. but in between sets be sure to work on scales,arppegios ect.. maybe a new tune. Too get where ya want to be you have to be willing to take out the garbage, sweep the floors, what ever it takes. Same with fiddling, if ya get bored or down, here's the place to gab about it. Maybe one of us can get ya kick-started. Keep fiddling Larry
