It's been two year's since I picked back up the fiddle and joined FHO. I Picked it up and put it down so many times in the past you would think it was a yo-yo. This time I was determined to stick it out and get over the hump. Stick with it till I found the sound I was looking for. I turned the corner a few months ago and I'm well on my way to that sound. My rhythm is improving and the songs are even more fun to learn and play. I still have a long way to go but I'm looking forward to each and everyday I put that my fiddle on my shoulder and learn something new about fiddle music and about myself.

That's great to hear! Playing (mostly learning) fiddle reminds me of when I played a lot of golf many years ago. I was never very good, but so enjoyed the game and everything that went with it like being out doors in a beautiful settings, etc.

I may not be that good at fiddle either but I do so enjoy the process of learning, the people I have met (and will continue to meet), and places like festivals that I travel to.

Good luck with your continued playing!

I play Old Time. I like the Appalachian sound and listen to as much of that style fiddle playing as I can. I hope to play at our family BBQ's this summer. My nephew plays guitar and we want to start having some fun. Fiddle, food and cold beverage of choice. Sounds like a great way to spend the evening.
