What do you all think about a Batey fiddle? I had it sold but the buyer returned it. I took it to a violin shop in Tampa and the owner said it is a beautiful violin and worth $3000. It has a bright clear sound that just sings. Anyone here have experience with Lebron's fiddles?

The thing about any instrument is that one set of ears and technique coupled with what is being played, while sounding perfect to one player, sounds less so to another. Such is the conundrum of instrument ownership and playing.

Right! All in the ear of the beholder. I know 2 fiddlers, and both their fiddles sound ear piercingly shrill to me, but they both love 'em.
