This is an old video I’ve kept in my YouTube watch list for years. I watch it every so often for its depiction of Joe just fooling around for fun and displaying the famous technique. A lot of people have copied it, but no swings like Joe Venuti!

It can be used for a church organ style as well. Venuti was versatile enough to be able to get a variety of effects out of this technique. He might have been demonstrating it in his parlor here, but it’s not just a parlor trick!
