I was offered a Fender mandolin with a $895 price tag, for $350. From a store that the owner closed about 3 years ago. He's still pulling stock from a warehouse and sells to people he knows. My husband knows him. We were in his closed store for another reason. Anyway, I forgot (!) to check the model of the Fender.
From the price tag, it appears to be an intermediate model. Any thoughts?
Just not sure if mandolins become dull like fiddles that just hang around. I don't think it was exposed to extreme temperatures or the sun.

I'm not a fan of Fender Mandolins myself...in fact, I gave one a way years ago due to many reasons. Playability, sound and overall look. That's not to say that you wouldn't be happy with this. The problem is playability with these level of mandolins. The tuners don't hold, they don't sound the greatest and the feel of the necks CAN be painful. But if $350 is your budget, it may be worth looking around for some others to compare. I see you're in NC where there are mandolins! Good luck and by any means, this is no offense to those who support Fender acoustic instruments but they are not the same caliber to their electric guitar models. Cheers!

The original price seems super steep, let alone the "sale"price. Fender doesn't make much of a mandolin, in my opinion. Unless this thing is vintage and electric, there's nothing on the market right now with the Fender name that even approaches those prices. A quick Google search will show you various models and you can compare to find the one you looked at. If it were me, I'd respectfully pass.
