Hmmm.. You know you live in a rural area when there is a cattle guard on the main road leading to town...If the best food in town is served at the gas station hot dog roller device, yep, small town..However, Nothing is better than a gas station 'rolled' sausage on a warmed bun.
You do your grocery shopping at the Dollar General...
BTW there is Nothing wrong with small towns.

You live in a small town when the big source of entertainment is to drive through the “main drag”…but it takes less than a minute to do so, so you just keep doing laps for an hour until you’ve waved to the same people enough that you’re ready to either take a break at THE ice cream stand or just go home.
Or, you live in a small town when you have one building that functions as the town post office, courthouse, pool hall, and bowling alley, all at the same time.
These observations are based on real towns I’ve visited and quite enjoyed.

Glad you brought it up Lee!
Just before planting and field work, we have Tractor Day at the high school.
I've figured this out: It's a way for Dad to get the tractor cleaned up before field work. Get Junior to clean up the tractor!
Oh yeah, the best coffee is at the elevator.

You know that it is a small town when they put the welcome to and come back soon signs on the same pole.
I did come from a small town in Tennessee where the biggest building in town when you went in the front door was the Baptist Church and in the back door was the Post Office. As Lee would say....."You can't make this stuff up,folks"
