I bought a friend a Blackstar Fly3 amp, a few years ago. I was impressed. I found they were made by Korg. They have a model that has Blutooth. I can bring it and my smartphone to gigs like nursing homes with little fuss. Volume control is on the phone. What do y'all think?
Obvious or not, I create the backing tracks myself. Rather than bring a looper and waste time creating loops prior to playing the fiddle. I create waves files of the loops. I can then put intros, and outros on each tune, controlling the length of the rune.

Agreed, makes good sense, you know what you're doing with the looper and by playing arrangements you've got a pretty solid idea how long each one will be and how many tunes/songs are needed for the gig. They can be in a simple playlist, one after another without having to queue anything.. leave a good space at the beginning and end of the recordings.

One of these days I gotta learn somethin' about all that looping stuff...lol. Sounds fun!

These or this person really has standardized the way each track starts and ends.
I guess I could borrow the system. I still need to make the tracks myself, in case there's a copyright issue or something. Making these tracks the looper really isn't the centerpiece. The recorder is. Just make a recording less the fiddle. But have cues to where to jump in and where to conclude.

Thats a pretty cool tube channel for those learning the standards! Jeez i'm so jealous of fiddlers these days - back in the day there was none of this to help learn! It was all sweat equity or nothing.
