About six weeks ago I reported a spammer who made three comments (with links unrelated to fiddles or me or my picture) and that spammer was not locked out. A couple of days a new spammer made a comment on the same picture.

How long does it take to  lockout a spammer?

You can delete the comments yourself. Though that won't lock the spam account. Still rather annoying.

My guess is these are usually bots, auto generating, perhaps now using AI to make appear as if actual interested human read and commented. Obviously goal is get you to click on the spam link (never do that).

I don't think I've ever seen a real, legitimate comment on personal media pages ever include any external link? I was thinking a good auto filter FHO could employ was just flag any of these that include a link at all. Or just make rule if includes link, the comment will be auto deleted.

FWIW, the future of AI, these annoyances are going to be more frequent, and seem more convincing. Again, just never ever click them.

Thanks. I hadn't noticed the little trashcan next to the date. I removed all four spam comments.
